Miche'l Moore, MS MFT-IT, Founder and Owner
"When one can simultaneously find acceptance and growth, that's where a more fulfilling life is found." Miche'l Moore
How do you know I'm a therapist? Because my daughter takes deep breathes when she's upset, since she was 1 years old. You can never be too young to use your nervous system properly.
Hello, my name is Miche'l Moore, and yes, my name is pronounced "Michael". Don't worry, you'll get used to it. I am the founder and owner of EVOLVEwithin. I am excited to tell you a little about myself as well as my focus as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I have a wonderful, loving family and truly supportive friends. Throughout life I have run into many ups and downs of my own, however, I have rarely given up. I have had many mentors along the way, and I would not be where I am today without their knowledge, kindness, and support. It truly does take a village. I have extensive past experience with families and children as I was a Nanny for 10 years for large professional families prior to becoming a Therapist. I am also a proud mother of a curious little girl and she has my whole heart. We enjoy being silly together often. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from UW-Milwaukee and there after attended Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin for my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy under Director Peter Fabian.
At my core, I believe we have the capability of healing ourselves, both for ourselves and for our children. Which is why I opened EVOLVEwithin. Therapy is not meant to change you, it's meant to evolve you. Sometimes we need things like guidance, clarity, insights, education, practice, peace of mind, emotional safety, and/or healing. And our team of professional therapists area ready to help you evolve.
I opened EVOLVEwithin LLC in 2015 and has been continuing to flourish ever since. In 2019 the clinic expanded from a solo practice to a group practice by welcoming additional Therapists and Clinical-Interns. I am naturally a team player and leader and I am thankful to have such a wonderful team of therapists to work alongside.
Please do not hesitate to ask which therapist is the best fit for you. We all work with individuals, couples, families and groups, but depending on your needs, one therapist may fit your needs better than another. I feel as though our past has shaped who we are today, and sometimes we are not 100% comfortable with who we have become. We are here to help you get a little closer to where you'd like to be. We take a collaborative approach when working with our clients. No one knows you better than yourself; you are a huge part of your treatment.
I have been working with clients since May of 2013 and truly enjoy it. However, due to the clinic growing into a group practice I have spent less time working directly with clients and focused more of my attention on finding and supporting my team of clinicians. It is important for me to have a qualified team who can make a positive difference in each person, family, and couple who seek services from our clinic.
The types of folks I have enjoyed working with over the years and love to see at our clinic are those whom have experienced unhealthy upbringings and past abuse or trauma, (for example: narcissistic relationships, or physical, emotional, or sexual abuse) who want to make a positive change for themselves and their families. We also welcome couples whom seek services for communication, intimacy issues, trust issues, affairs, problem solving, you name it. And lastly, we are incredibly passionate about parents whom seek support for individual growth or growth as a caregiver, especially now. A pandemic such as the one we are currently in has effected the mental health of parents more than anyone else. Our children and their future depends a whole lot on who cares for them. Don't forget putting yourself first is not just for you.
